Bio

Precisely made, pared-down, and minimal presentation, the contemporary works of Shelby Head explore different theories, techniques, and ideas that are organized in collections. Her work has been widely exhibited through solo and group exhibitions that include art fairs CONTEXT (New York) and Art Palm Beach (Florida), Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery (Stamford, CT), Queens College Art Center (Queens, NY), Lamont Gallery (Exeter, NH), Paul Mellon Art Center (Wallingford, CT), Sacred Heart University (Stamford, CT), Whitney Center for the Arts (Sheridan, WY) and Cloyde Snook Gallery (Alamosa, CO). Selected press includes sealinecoast.com, Feminism on Display (2018), The Fabric of Cultures: Systems in the Making (2017) and Take Magazine, Paper and Light (2017). Head was awarded a fellowship to Jentel Artist Residency (2017), The Artist’s Trust grant, a fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation (2017) and an honorarium from Sheridan College (2018)
