In Measured Line, the balance between precision and imperfection, and between surface and depth, is examined. Stark lines and geometric shapes create a restrained visual language, while the paper's delicate nature enables unexpected changes. When the surface is wrinkled, torn, or marked, repairs become part of the composition: a patch is added, a wrinkle is smoothed or resurfaced, or a mark is hidden but still visible beneath the surface. LED light shines through intentional openings, offering glimpses of a hidden interior. These breaks provide subtle moments of revelation, allowing light and sometimes material to extend beyond the form. As a result, the works exist in a space between a two-dimensional surface and a sculptural form, their order disrupted and enriched by moments of vulnerability. To further this inquiry, one might ponder: Where does the facade end and the self begin? This question invites the audience into the ongoing debate and extends the exhibition’s narrative beyond the gallery walls, leaving the viewer to contemplate the spatial paradoxes presented.
